Day 2, Tuesday, Cedar Village spent the morning doing Nature Study, and the afternoon doing crafts.
The morning started off a little gloomy, but it was still beautiful!

How do you feed almost 200 kids in less than an hour? With almost military precision, that's how. Students are only fed at meals, so they are encouraged to eat as much as they like. Many of the kids listed the food as one of the top 3 things they liked about camp when we chaperons met with students Tuesday morning.
After a brief check-in with head teacher Doug, Ben and I each took half of the kids, and had them write their 3 favorite things, and any concerns or worries they might have. Most concerns were minor, like kids being too loud. Doug promised to check in with anything that seemed significant, like not having warm enough clothes. The health center has clean loaners for anyone unprepared for the weather.

In the morning they did Nature Study, where they learned about the energy cycle, then went on a hike to find examples in nature. They also heard the story of the Grandfather Oak. Ask your student to tell you the story. It's a good one.
In the afternoon they did wood or stone crafts.
Tuesday evening they went on a Night Hike. For some students that looked like a bus tour to find animals at night. These students saw 2 Mule Deer, and heard a frog chorus. Overall, the kids had fun.
